Earlier this week, Paranormal Activity enjoyed its DVD and Blu-ray release. While no commentaries or featurettes were bundled along to sweeten the ride, Paramount did include one item to make fans very happy: the rarest of Paranormal Activity’s three endings. Hint: It’s not the one with the cops.
If you want to hold out for hopefully a better packaged DVD in the future, the ending has now made its way deep into the internet. Watch it after the jump. (more…)

No surprise here, Paramount has seen the light (and reportedly, have seen it way earlier than they’re letting on) and decided to give Paranormal Activity a wide release. The Demand It counter hit 1 million last night, and the full roll-out starts next weekend. Don’t let cynicism stop you: SCARS hosted a second screening of Paranormal Activity this week in Providence, and have now witnessed two audiences completely lose it over this movie. So get ready! Read our review of Paranormal Activity here.

 Sold Out at the Coolidge
Last night’s midnight screening of Paranormal Activity, at the Coolidge in Boston, reinforced a few key points for me.
- Keep your feet tight and secure under your blanket, and definitely not dangling off the bed.
- Don’t sleep with your bedroom door open. It just leaves more things open to be afraid of.
- If someone personally gives you the number of a demonologist, you should probably take them seriously.
- Paranormal Activity is as scary as we’ve all been told. (more…)

- CONTEST CLOSED, THANK YOU! -
This Thursday, September 24, at midnight marks the ONLY area screening of Paranormal Activity. To get your name added to the guest-list, e-mail your name to ParanormalBoston@yahoo.com. You must be over 17. The screening is at Boston’s best theater for midnight madness, Coolidge Corner Theatre, located at 290 Harvard Street in Brookline. If you’re driving in from out of town, don’t worry, the Coolidge is located on one of the easiest streets for parking, and there’s plenty of it.
Please get to the theater early to secure your spot. Paramount is overselling the theater to make sure this movie gets the notice it deserves.
This $11,000 budget film from Paramount is being toted as one of the scariest of all time by everyone from AintItCool to Bloody-Disgusting, and is relying on grassroots motivation to get full distribution. Watch the trailer and learn more about Paranormal Activity.

In 2006, Oren Peli directed Paranormal Activity for $11,000, shot in seven days, with a crew of three people, in Peli’s own home. Paramount picked it up and claims that for those who have seen it, not a single critic has negatively reviewed the movie, which is being dubbed one of the scariest of all time.
Paramount has a grassroots campaign going on via Paranormal Activity’s Twitter (http://twitter.com/TweetYourScream) to drum up support to move the movie from a limited opening to a fuller release. A poster was released earlier today, and after viewing this trailer, I’m sure they’ve got a lot of internet support coming their way. Watch the trailer, which consists mainly of audience reaction, after the jump. (more…)
