Grindstone/Lionsgate Home Entertainment Pick Up Rasmussen Brothers’ “Dark Feed”

"Dark Feed" Picked up by Lionsgate Home Entertainment/GrindstoneHere’s some news from AFM that we couldn’t be more pleased to share. Last year, we told you about Boston filmmakers Michael and Shawn Rasmussen (writers of John Carpenter’s The Ward), and their new film, Dark Feed. (See our issue with their interview.) It’s just been announced that Grindstone and Lionsgate Home Entertainment have acquired North American rights to Dark Feed, with Recreation Media picking up international rights. Dark Feed is the Rasmussens’ directorial debut  and is screening at AFM this week. (more…)

Dark Feed PosterIn our October ‘11 issue of SCARS, Boston-based filmmakers, Michael and Shawn Rasmussen “spilled their guts” about their experiences as writers of John Carpenter’s The Ward and as writers, directors, and general indie filmmaking conquistadors for their latest project, Dark Feed.

Even fiendish horror fan minds can appreciate  a happy ending, especially when these stories get at the roots of something else we love: independent horror. So we’re psyched to share that the Rasmussens have announced Dark Feed is finished and is currently being represented by Ronna Wallace at Eastgate Pictures. (Wallace is best-known for selling Open Waters and producing Reservoir Dogs.) And – we’ve got a trailer. (more…)

New Production Stills From “Dark Feed”

DARK FEED Production StillBoston filmmakers and writers of John Carpenter’s “The Ward,” Michael and Shawn Rasmussen, have released another batch of stills from their latest film, “Dark Feed.”

This indie film, shot on location in Massachusetts, is a we all go a little mad sometimes tale of a low-budget movie crew making a horror movie in an abandoned mental hospital. Unsurprisingly, it’s not long before things go very, very wrong.
