 Here’s some news from AFM that we couldn’t be more pleased to share. Last year, we told you about Boston filmmakers Michael and Shawn Rasmussen (writers of John Carpenter’s The Ward), and their new film, Dark Feed. (See our issue with their interview.) It’s just been announced that Grindstone and Lionsgate Home Entertainment have acquired North American rights to Dark Feed, with Recreation Media picking up international rights. Dark Feed is the Rasmussens’ directorial debut and is screening at AFM this week. (more…)

 About six weeks ago, I heard the Murder City Devils had two new songs out. The 7″ with these songs — Every Day I Rise and Ball Busters in the Peanut Gallery – was already sold out through their website, but you could place an order for a second pressing. I did, and my record arrived in the mail yesterday. If you’ve ever liked the Murder City Devils, I advise doing the same.
So what, right? It’s just two songs. And the band hasn’t put out new material in over ten years. But what I really, really liked about these two tracks is how much neither sound like they came out in 2012. (You can listen to Every Day I Rise after the jump.) (more…)

 I’ll admit I’m a sucker for a strong(hot) female lead in a horror film. Give her fangs and some blades and I’m totally in! So when I got these clips in the box, I knew I was going to have get this sucker on Blu-Ray! Read the synopsis and watch the clips and don’t be a hater. Plenty of Nazis, Boobs and Blood for everyone!!!!!!
Infamous director Uwe Boll’s (Postal, Alone in the Dark) latest cult-classic is the third in the notorious Bloodrayne film series, based on the popular video game character. The film stars Natassia Malthe (Elektra, DOA: Dead or Alive), Clint Howard (Frost/Nixon), Michael Paré (The Lincoln Lawyer) and Brendan Fletcher (Freddy vs. Jason). The DVD and Blu-ray are packed with special features including the making of Bloodrayne: The Third Reich, a writer-director commentary, an interview with the writer and more!

 Aside from Twisted Tales’ resident legendary writer, RamseyCampbell, Liverpool has also produced another great master of horror: Clive Barker. Barker’s fiction came to international attention with the publication of his Books of Blood in the mid 1980s. His status was considerably enhanced when he adapted his novella The Hellbound Heart into the film Hellraiser, which conquered the world in 1987 and went on to spawn many sequels, as well as a series of comics that explored its mythology. Clive also directed cult film classics Nightbreed (1990) and Lord of Illusions (1995). He designed the creatures and wrote the stories for two successful computer games: Undying (2001) and Jericho (2007) and is the author of many novels, including Weaveworld (1987) and Imajica(1991).

 This little gem stars William Forsythe and Michael Madsen and was shot in SCARS home state of RI. From what the trailer shows, it could be a nice little surprise in the world of zombie madness!
The trailer offers a nice glimpse of what to expect and it looks like this could be well worth the time and popcorn!

 AMC released today a ‘first look’ photo from season two of its critically acclaimed original drama, “The Walking Dead,” currently in production in the greater Atlanta area. The hit series’ second season includes 13 episodes, and premieres this fall.
Executive Producer/Writer/Director Frank Darabont says, “At this moment, I’m standing on a stretch of post-apocalypse interstate in Georgia, littered with abandoned cars and blessing my good luck to be reunited with our amazing cast, and our fantastic directors and crew. Across the board, there are none better. It’s great to be shooting again. I think we’ve embarked on a great season.”
