Trailer Debut: ‘SAW VII’ 3D

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

Today, Lionsgate has brought forth the trailer for the alleged final film in the SAW franchise: SAW VII. In 3D. If ever there was a case to be made for a series getting 3-D treatment, I guess the creativity of SAW lends itself well to it. (Although done correctly there’d be a good case for a Nightmare on Elm Street in 3D. The ending of Freddy’s Dead not counting. *Update: Apparently a sequel for NOES in 3D could be happening. How great.*) Anyway, check out the trailer for SAW VII after the jump. I haven’t seen any of the SAW’s since part three. I am a terrible horror fan. (more…)

One Night Stand: New Short From Chris Notarile

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

ONS-PosterwebYou saw him in our “Short ” issue and now it seems just mere months later, Chris is handing us another offering.  One Night Stand.  Chris inform us:

“This film was shot for 100 dollars in less than 3 hours. It stars Zoe Sloane and Chase Coleman of my upcoming feature, Daddy’s Girl, due out next year.”

Well if this girl works it like she does in this short, we are in for one hell of a ride.

2009 Stretches Into 2010: ‘Paranormal Activity 2,’ ‘Let Me In’ Trailers

Friday, July 2nd, 2010

Let Me InThe last few days have given two pretty promising trailers: Let Me In (the Let the Right One In, hilariously titled remake) and Paranormal Activity 2. Sure, the PA2 trailer is really just a teaser, and of course it strikes a chord with me – I liked the first movie, and this teaser is essentially nothing more than reminding people of all the good, spooky feelings the first one dredged up. Maybe foolishly, I’m optimistic for both. Equally, kind of disappointed that two movies I’m looking forward to this year are the same stuff we were all talking about last year. Anyway. Watch ‘em after the jump. (more…)

Top 3 Romantic Killing Spree Movies

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

poster_kalifornia-pittSo I was listening to Bruce Springsteen’s “Nebraska” (one of the best songs ever written), and I got to thinking.  What were my favorite romantic slaughter fests?  I really didn’t have to think all that hard. Nothing is more fascinating than two homicidal people whose hormones are raging deciding to have sex and take some innocent people out along the way.

Enjoy the trailers after the jump.

Somebody Liked The Evil Dead… ‘Damned By Dawn’ Trailer

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

damnedcovI’m that guy who makes everyone rush to the theatre to make sure we don’t miss the previews, so I think I have mini orgasms when I open my email and find a good trailer waiting in there. This one, from Revolver Entertainment, looks like a little Australian gem directed by Brett Anstey.  Don’t be set back by the title of this post – I mean this in a good way.  The imagery and camera work seems to scream Sam Raimi, and let’s hope this film will pick up where the first Evil Dead left off in the creativity department!
