Diamond, who is known to be the world’s largest comic book distributor, presents issue number five entitled, ‘Contest’ this month set for release in October. “We are incredibly excited to be featured in the Previews catalog” says Hound Comics’ Treasurer and Lead Inker, Allen Chickering, “I know that I personally grew up purchasing my entire comic collection from local stores, so it’s great to have our book readily available to the neighborhood specialty shops.”

Top 5 SCARS Anticipated Hollywood Films Of 2011

Tuesday, July 5th, 2011

Girl-With-the-Dragon-Tattoo-2I have to say I have not been excited about this year in movies. In 2005 I was a KONG geek and actually got to see the premiere in NYC, so everything else has had a weak impact on me…

I’ll run down my list of movies that have made me somewhat itchy but only one has me to the point of utter giddiness. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

DaggerVision’s Caustic Zombies

Tuesday, July 5th, 2011

Dormont, PA, July 22, 2011- Independent horror film director Johnny Daggers,
debuts his first full-length feature film, “Caustic Zombies” at the Hollywood
Theater. This premiere will mark the beginning of an era for the native Pittsburgh
film company, DaggerVision Films.
“Pittsburgh is rich in horror history, and to be kicking off the release of ‘Caustic
Zombies’ at the Hollywood Theater is quite an honor,” says director Johnny
Daggers. “I am excited to help Pittsburgh carry on yet another generation of
horror movies. I can only aspire to make an impact on the genre as powerful as
my predecessors.”
DaggerVision Films, which made its start in May 2010, has proven to be one
of the most well-received independent horror film companies in Pittsburgh.
Recently they were featured in Rabid and Xploited magazines, as well as being
mentioned in the Pittsburgh Tribune Review. This latest recognition solidifies
their posterity like so many other filmmakers have done in the past.
“When I write my scripts, I am essentially writing about myself, and how I would
react when things went down. People can expect “Caustic Zombies” to have a
lot of gore, but also a lot of sarcastic humor.”
For showings or ticket information, please visit www.daggervisionfilms.com
and www.causticzombies.com. Or for theater information please contact The
Hollywood Theater located at 1449 Potamac Avenue in Dormont, via phone at
412-563-0368 or you can visit their website, www.thehollywooddormont.org.

Caustic-ZombiesOk, I get press releases all the time and this one jumped out at me because of this statement “DaggerVision Films, which is owned and operated by the amazing Johnny Daggers”.  So of course I need proof of the Amazing Johnny Daggers.  Caustic Zombies is his full length feature and maybe if I’m good I’ll get a screener to see how AMAZING Johnny is. :-)

So jump down and read the press release and watch the Trailer!

Aaron Stoquert: Run For Your Life!

Tuesday, July 5th, 2011

Aaron_040211_0204Aaron Stoquert has written the perfect Zombie soundtrack. If you like Nick Cave and Tom Waits haunting style this will be right up your alley. As I write this the lyrics “Think of us as the world dies” flow like blood out of my Bose ear buds. I highly recommend purchasing anything Aaron has to offer to support his sheer understanding of mood and aural texture.

If you do not see Aaron’s name in the credits of an HBO series soon something’s wrong with the world…

Listen to what he has to offer here

Trollhunter? Anybody?

Monday, July 4th, 2011

trollhunterI was just watching the trailer for this film and had to ask myself do I want to see it? So now I’m asking you. Do I want to see it? I would like to hear from anyone paying attention to SCARS if I should drop a dime and watch this? It looks awesome but I’ve been duped by the awesomeness of trailers before. I now rest the fate of me seeing this movie in your hands, also I want to see if any of you really are reading these. :-)
