 Lux Interior: October 21, 1946 - February 4, 2009

The big bad bone daddy of rock n’ roll was taken from us too soon, and his loss was later diminished in the shuffle of celebrity tragedies which followed throughout the year. The band played their final show in 2006, and I was lucky enough to be at one of their last shows on October 30, 2006 at the House of Blues in Los Angeles. Even though his life ended at 62, anyone who saw Lux in that last tour could see the life he still had in him. On February 2, Mystic Pictures (a distribution offshoot of Highland Myst Entertainment) releases the first DVD of its line, The Good Sisters. Starring April Monique Burrill (Chainsaw Sally, you can see her over there in our right hand column) and Debbie Rochon (so many indy horror movies), the movie follows two mystical sisters in a fight of good vs. evil. We gave this baby our cover last April, so we’re happy to see it finally find a home and audience. Read our coverage, starting on page 25.
Mystic Pictures is helmed by Brandon Baker and Jon Keeyes. (Read our interview with Keeyes for his latest movie, Fall Down Dead.) Check the full press release after the jump, which includes more release titles from Mystic Pictures. (more…)
