I heard about this movie about 5-6 months ago and decided right then and there that I needed to see it ASAP. And I got the chance last week at J. Cannibal’s TerrorThon here in Boston. They worked directly with the producers to acquire a copy of the yet-to-be-distributed film for the festival. A simple overview of the storyline is all you need: Two Hillbillies (Labine and Tudyk) are accused of being killers by college kids camping near the duo’s cabin.
Simple enough. But doesn’t really draw you in on that, right? Well, the catch of it is the old “Three’s Company” routine. Remember when Jack and Chrissy were in the bathroom hanging the shower curtain in the tub, and Mr. Furley was outside the door listening. And all he heard was Chrissy saying “Get it up,” and Jack saying “I’m trying, but I just don’t think it is going to fit.” And Mr Furley was thinking that Jack and Chrissy were getting all down in it. Well “Tucker & Dale” is an ENTIRE movie of those kinds of misunderstanding and trust me, it NEVER got old. (more…)
You know when you hear about the theme of a movie and you get all excited for it? Then the director is announced for the project and it makes it that much better, then the actors begin to attach to it and it becomes one of your “must see” movies of the coming season?
