On Monday, the owner of the world’s face transplant showed his new mug on TV and to the public for the first time. The 31 year-old Spanish dude – known only as Oscar – needed his new face after he accidentally shot himself. NPR describes the 24 hour procedure he went under as going something like this: “doctors lifted an entire face, including jaw, nose, cheekbones, muscles, teeth and eyelids, and placed it masklike onto the man.” In his TV interview, Oscar made sure to thank his face donor’s family.
His sister also said that Oscar looks forward to “walking down the street without anyone looking at him.”

And, this whole thing has made me think that maybe I should remove the little organ donor heart from my license if FACE REMOVAL is something that they might take from me.
