‘33 ‘King Kong’ Screens Free In Downtown Providence

Movies on the Block - Providence - 2010One of the best summertime parts of Providence in my opinion, is the Movies on the Block deal they’ve been doing the last couple years, and they are totally kicking the season off right for 2010. On the corner of Westminster and Union in Providence (ie: the empty lot across from Tazza), at dusk, Movies on the Block starts its summer series with a free screening of King Kong (1933), tomorrow on June 3.

Bring your own chairs or blankets – they’ve got plenty in the way of food and booze you can buy either from venders in the lot, or across the street in Tazza.

Other cult/genre fair this summer includes Easy Rider (July 8), Shaun of the Dead (August 12), Total Recall (August 19), The Warriors (August 26), The Usual Suspects (September 2), Kill Bill Vol. 1 (September 16), and Bonnie and Clyde (9/23).
