Marilyn Manson’s ‘Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll’ Releases Promo

Marilyn Manson's Phantasmagoria - The Visions of Lewis CarollHere’s a piece of news that slipped by me. Remember when Tim Burton announced Alice in Wonderland, and a lot of people were like, “Why’s everyone dipping into Alice in Wonderland territory, hasn’t Manson had this idea to make it for years?” (Unfortunately, not as many people as who actually went to go see Tim Burton’s stupid version.) Well, based off Manson’s official 2004 announcement to make Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll – which was actually never made – a 2006 promo was shot to help with financing. Marilyn-Manson.net released the promo last week.

Via the website, “This teaser features real-life twin sisters engaging in questionable acts and burlesque superstar Dita Von Teese in artistic, full-nude. The figure in the medical mask is artist Gottfried Helnwein and the bird-face masked character and white gloved Lewis Carroll impresario, is Marilyn Manson.”

The plot follows the nightmares of Victorian writer, Lewis Carroll, who’s haunted by his visions of a girl named Alice.

It’s been reported that Manson may be picking up this project again one day soon. I wish he would. Regardless of what you think of his aesthetic, he at least has one, which is more than you can say for a lot of modern horror fare directors.

Anyway, more Manson news to be posted here later this week, when we talk about our special night out at the Magic Castle in Hollywood, where we had a close encounter with Marilyn Manson and his top hat.
