A big part of the reason SCARS has the moniker “The Magazine That Leaves Marks” rather than “Horror That Leaves Marks” is because it gives us free license to cover all different transgressive parts of culture that we like. For example, we can report on the fact that the only surviving band of the original trinity of British punk, Buzzcocks, have decided to launch a massive US tour. At their age!
Buzzcocks have been making a push back into our collective cultural consciousness lately, with MUTE having done beautifully restored and expanded re-releases of three of their albums – Another Music in a Different Kitchen, Love Bites and A Different Kind of Tension. Each album has unreleased tracks, demo tracks, live versions, and all the sorts of stuff you’d dig as a collector.
