This news comes double with the announcement today that author James Patterson (Kiss the Girls) will adapt his book The Murder of King Tut into a comic series. Steve Bowen, president of James Patterson Entertainment, explained the comic series is aimed at attracting the eye of Hollywood to Patterson’s work, stating, “It helps inspire filmmakers to see the potential in stories — this is a test lab in some ways.” No confirmation on whether or not this is related to the in-development King Tut (2012) film listed on IMDB, which shares the same alternate title as Patterson’s book.
Most likely, Patterson won’t be doing any rewrites to work in the malaria angle. Read the full DNA article for details on not only King Tut’s bout with malaria, but his newfound and alleged bone disease.
