When the original trailer popped up this October for the Ben Barnes/Eliza Dushku psych-thriller Locked In, a lot of the general consensus was the movie looked cool – but no one could figure out what the hell it was about. This new trailer shows more plot.
Disclosure, that what the hell this movie is a topic of great personal interest to me. I jumped on board on the second day of shooting as a costume assistant, and never got around to reading any more of the full script than what was shooting each day. On any given day I was assigned to shop for anything from Christmas themed nursing scrubs, to Halloween masks. The longer the shoot went on, the more embarrassed I became to admit that I had no idea what we were making, and the whole situation just snowballed out of control from there. I remember asking someone on the 2nd or 3rd day what the movie was about and they said something to the extent of,
“It’s about a guy who’s leaving a Christmas party with his wife and daughter when they get into a car accident. The daughter then gets locked-in syndrome, where she’s completely mentally aware, but physically paralyzed. Meanwhile, the guy is being harassed by this woman he had an affair with. Then it’s….. It’s sort of…. He’s fighting for his daughter’s life… But really… These things are happening… It’s… Um. I don’t know. It’s a psychological thriller. Hm.”
Anecdotes aside, here’s the trailer. This was originally found on the Production Company’s marketing page, but they pulled it. A good samaritan has since given it a home on YouTube.
