In director Miguel Sapochnik’s Repo Men, starring Jude Law, Liev Schreiber, and Forest Whitaker, we’re set in a futuristic world, where organ failure is rampant. A big company has stepped in, providing synthetic organs to all those who can make their payments. Don’t make your payments? Then the repo men come to take your guts back. The movie opens on April 2, 2010 and no, it is not a remake of Darren Lynn Bousman’s REPO! The Genetic Opera. I know, I’m confused too.
The movie is actually based on a novel by Eric Garcia, who co-wrote the screenplay. The story plot differs from Repo! because Jude Law’s character (a repo man) becomes in need of an artificial organ, but can not go back to work to make his payments. Now it’s him vs. them.
Check out the trailer, released today by Universal.
