What A Misfits Cover Band Should Sound Like

Ted LeoSomewhere out there in the world, Jerry Only tours under the guise of the Misfits. The strangest part of this whole affair is almost every other band that exists, which covers Misfits songs, can now be said as playing these songs better than the actual “Misfits” do.

My new favorite example of this comes in the form of Ted Leo, from the occasionally Rhode Island based Ted Leo and the Pharmacists. On Halloween night, Ted gathered up friends from his own band, along with Atom & His Package and Paint It Black musicians, and put together a one-night-only Misfits cover band. Who would have guessed the vegan indie rocker could channel the power of Danzig so convincingly? See for yourself after the jump.

I have to say this band is brilliant. I bought my first cd player in 1988 and my first disc was Danzig (1) and this guy is absolutely DANZIG!
