New England scored a coup when Blitzkid decided to bring their perfected brand of horror-rock from a rooted base in Virginia, to a new settlement in Massachusetts. Goolsby (bass/vocals) and TB Monstrosity (guitar/vocals) may be on the search for a new drummer, and recording with other bands, but they’re bringing things home this winter with a tour and new songs to debut. Steampunk Media has announced the first date and it’s right here in Providence, November 13, 2009 at Club Gallery. Check the rest of the dates!

And in other Blitzkid-membered-bands news…
Also be sure to check out new music from 1476, who’s debut album “A Wolf’s Age” became available on iTunes and Amazon last week. Goolsby is one part of this trio, with Robb Kavjian and Neil DeRosa rounding out the line-up. 1476 has little to do with boo-wop, and much more with a sort of neo-folk, Bauhaus-inspired sound. Follow 1476 or visit their MySpace.
Anyone up to making the trek to Jersey can also catch Goolsby playing with Gorgeous Frankenstein when they open for fucking Danzig (sorry, my Glenn fandom doesn’t allow me to type that normally) at the Starland Ballroom, December, 26, in Danzig’s only East Coast date this year. Gorgeous Frankenstein also, of course, includes Doyle… If the past few years is any evidence, this makes a mini-Misfits set almost inevitable. Get there if you can! Check Gorgeous Frankenstein’s MySpace for details.
